About the Artist
A creation of Mario Miranda (1926 – 2011), who drew vignettes of Goan village life. He is a globally acclaimed and nationally respected artistic figure who held solo exhibitions in over 22 countries. He was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award, by the President of India in April 2012. After retirement, Miranda lived in his ancestral home, at Loutolim, a village in Salcete, Goa.
