Pradeep Naik’s unique sculpture celebrates Pao. The technique of bread-making was introduced in India by the Portuguese in the 16th century. There are different types of Goan breads: Pao, Poli, Katreacho Pao and Kankan. Goa is a unique place where the baker visits every house with fresh bread twice a day. Bhaji Pao is the most popular Goan breakfast.

About the Artist
Pradeep Naik (Born 1976), Studied Masters in Fine Arts from Sarojini Naidu School of Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Communication, Hyderabad Central University, Hyderabad – AP in 2002 and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Goa College of Art, Altinho – Panaji in 1999.
Since then, he has participated in several exhibitions including ‘Portugal through the eyes of
artists in Goa’ an exhibition organized by the Consual General of Portugal, Althino, Panaji, Goa.
